1 BioChemistry – Organic Macromolecule Objectives 1.List the six essential elements. 2.Name the four different organic macromolecules. 3.Identify the two elements found in all organic macromolecules. 4.Summarize why organic macromolecules are essential to all life. 5.Differentiate between monomers and polymers.

2 BioChemistry – Organic Macromolecule Objectives 1.List the six essential elements. 2.Name the four different organic macromolecules. 3.Identify the two elements found in all organic macromolecules. 4.Summarize why organic macromolecules are essential to all life. 5.Differentiate between monomers and polymers. 6.Recognize each macromolecule and various examples of each when given a chemical structure. 7.Describe the functions of each macromolecule. 8.Compare and Contrast the monomer and polymer of each macromolecule. (except Lipids – How are lipids different).

3 Macromolecule Objectives 1.Identify the properties of different parts of a phospholipid, its structure when given a picture, and where they are located in a cell. 2.Identify the substances used to test for each macromolecule and the color changes that occur for a positive test. 3.Draw ATP and describe how it gains and loses energy. 4.Describe why ATP is important to living organisms?
