3. My Family  I have a small family, consisting of my mom, Valerie, my dad, Dan, and my fraternal twin sister, Emily.  We are very close and spend a lot of time together. We have an annual tradition of going to the beach at Thanksgiving and visiting California in the summer.  Beyond my immediate family, I have relatives living in Virginia, California, and Kentucky.

4. My Hobbies  In my spare time I enjoy…  Reading historical fiction and fantasy novels.  Playing the flute and piano.  Watching movies.  Spending time with friends and family.  Cooking Indian, Italian, and Mexican food.

5. My Heritage  My dad is of Norwegian heritage and my maternal grandmother is French. My mom speaks French fluently.  I grew up speaking English at home and studied French for six years during middle school and high school.  A few years ago, my family visited France to see where my grandmother grew up and to sightsee. It was a very memorable experience!  Occasionally, I speak in French at home with my sister and my mom.
