Battle Of Midway ●May 1942- June 4, 1942 ●Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto sought to draw the US Pacific Fleet into a battle where he could overwhelm and destroy it. ●The US attacked First and sunk four Japanese carriers, forcing Yamamoto to withdrawal. ●Marked the turning point of WWII in the pacific.

10. Island Hopping ●Movement from the US led by General Douglas MacArthur, and Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. ●Strategy to get closer to Japan and the surrounding Islands. ●First attack -> February 1945 -> Bloodiest island hopping attack in April. ●US soldiers were not use to that kind of war, they got infected with different illnesses such as Malaria, dysentery and skin fungus.
