Mrs. Diechelbor A.K.A Donut Dolly. She was from MN and went to Vietnam in 1966 with the Red Cross. She was trained in Saigon but assigned in Da Nang at the age of 22. She went looking for challenge and adventure.

Donut Dollies Requirements…. College grad. Single 21-26 years of age They invented their own games to entertain the soldiers. They went to hospitals to visit the injured.

Mr. Boren Mr. Boren entered the Marines in 1964. He entered Vietnam in Sept. 1965 and became an infantry squad leader in the 2 nd battalion, 1 st Marines. He was in 26 major missions and was never scratched. Also he had over 100 night ambushes and over 100 day patrols.

Mr. Boren (cont.) Mr. Boren was sent back to the states because his brother was killed and his parents wanted Mr. Boren to escort the body home. Once home he wanted to return to Vietnam but he was not allowed because he was an angry Marine and a possible danger to himself and/or others. Instead, the Marines trained him as a PMI.
