ir a + infinitive verb-going to -use to talk about what someone is or isn’t going to do -use a conjugated form of ir + a + an infinitive verb (DON’T FORGET THE ‘A’!) THIS IS A USEFUL PHRASE, so get used to using it! Example: I’m going to run.-Voy a correr. He is going to rest.-Él va a descansar

PRACTICE with ir a + infinitive 1. We are going to dance. 2. You are going to go to the park. 3. She is going to buy books. 4. They are going to play tennis. 5. I am going to sing.

Tarjeta Postal You are going to create a postcard in Spanish to show your understanding of ir and ir a + infinitive. We are in Spain and you are going to send a postcard to someone back at home. Include the following: -greeting -where you are now (Estoy en [city].) -3 places you are going and when you’re going there (Voy a [city] [when].) -for each place you travel tell at least 1 thing you are going to do (Voy a [infinitive verb] -goodbye -picture in color on one side; writing, address, and stamp on the other (All of the places should be actual places in Spain-if you can’t think of any, look on a map) (You need to work on a rough draft for the rest of class today and you will be working on it tomorrow while people are doing their speaking assessment; final draft will be due Tues.)
