18 GPA AND CREDITS GRADES BELOW 70 RECEIVE 0 POINTS IN YOUR GPA. IT IS LIKE TAKING A 0 IN YOUR AVERAGE FOR A CLASS- THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE IS THAT THIS 0 IS PERMANENT! IF YOU FAIL A CLASS THEN YOU WILL MAKE UP THE CLASS BUT THE 0 STAYS IN YOUR AVERAGE. IT TAKES HIGH GRADES TO MAKE UP THOSE ZEROS. GPA IS CALCULATED AT THE END OF EACH SEMESTER. YOUR COLLEGE CLASSES ARE CALLED DUAL CREDIT AND COUNT TOWARD YOUR COLLEGE AND HIGH SCHOOL GPA AND CREDIT FOR GRADUATION

19 GCISD Weighted Grading Scale * NOTE-DUAL COLLEGE CLASSES RECEIVE PAP WEIGHT. This weighted grading scale will be used starting in the 2014-2015 school year.

20 Cumulative GPA All high school courses taken in grades 9-12 will be calculated in the cumulative GPA with the exception of: Summer school courses taken between the 8th and 9th grade year Summer school courses taken for credit recovery Credit by examination, with or without prior instruction Traditional correspondence courses, with the exception of courses taken through TXVSN
