Speaker introductions Guess who… has a bilingual father. was in a coma for two weeks at the age of 2. programmed a working Enigma device in HyperCard. For fun. has been to Russia and the Ukraine on two separate occasions. missed being caught in an F4 tornado thanks to having to stop to go to the bathroom. has eaten cow tongue. has an extensive collection of setlists from concerts (his wife LOVES waiting for him to get them). is past president of his college's "Sauna Society." married his high school sweetheart. had a great grandmother that lived to 101 years old. taught himself to program BASIC on a Commodore 64. For fun.

Learning targets Target 1: I can simulate an experiment using physical manipulatives. Target 2: I can simulate an experiment using technology. Target 3: I can make a decision from a simulation about the level of evidence against a null hypothesis.

My pedagogical approach When you look around a classroom, the people who are talking the most, thinking the most, and the writing the most are the ones who are learning the most.
