May 12, 2009 3 Background (cont’d) Report summarizes 12 test administrations: three sets of annual administrations (October, January, April, and July), from October 2005 through July 2008 Records performance of first-time, eligible test takers, indicating initial and best attempt, if they tested more than once in a content area Passing percentages in situations with less than 10 test takers are not reported; however, the passing percentages are included in any aggregate values

May 12, 2009 4 Highlights: Institutions Statewide best attempt aggregate passing percentage including all content area is approximately 93% Two institutions (Marygrove College and University of Detroit-Mercy) have percentages below 80%

May 12, 2009 5 Highlights: Content Areas Statewide passing percentage for 48,182 tests is approximately 93% Four content areas have best attempt passing percentages below 80%: Business Administration; Communication Arts; Earth/Space Science; and Sociology.

May 12, 2009 6 Highlights: Interval Comparisons Report concludes with a comparison of passing percentages for 2005-2008, 2004-2007, and 2003-2006 Statewide best attempt aggregate passing percentage is approximately 93% in each of the three, 3-year intervals Over the 3 intervals, the number of tests taken has decreased by over 8000, from 56,721 to 48,182
