I AM GOING TO : I HAVE DECIDED TO DO STH. Today, I am going to drive my new motorcycle, then I am going to phone my best friend and finally I am going to read my favourite novel.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS The present continuous is used to describe plans and arrangements which are definite. Such arrangements may be written in a diary. I’m flying to London tomorrow morning. The present continuous is used to describe fixed arrangements, and to ask about social arrangements. Are you doing anything this evening?

How does it work? It all depends on the level of certainty. 1. Sudden decision: We’ll go to the Canary Islands! 2. Plan or intention: I’m going to (go to ) the US next summer. 3. Fixed arrangement: I´m leaving tomorrow.

IS GOING TO HAPPEN: The situation now makes us believe that. Look at those black clouds! It’s going to rain. She is pregnant. She is going to have a baby. PREDICTIONS WITH PRESENT EVIDENCE BUT YOU SHOULD ALSO REMEMBER !
