Roots are what absorbs the water from the soil Roots deliver the water to the stem and leaves Roots absorb water and minerals from the soil like a straw Roots store food for future use

Stems support and produce the flower buds, flowers, and fruits Stems can come in all different sizes - lettuce plants have very short stems and the California redwood tree trunk (stem) can be up to 350 feet high
