Stanislaus County Employee Access DataStore Application Presented By: Melanie Lema, Information Technology Unit Stanislaus County Department of Child Support Services

What it does… ■Has served as an integral application within our department since 2006 (Currently tracks access for 27 various internal/external resources for Stanislaus Co DCSS) ■Enables our department to remain in compliance with The Stanislaus County Security IT Policy ■Replaces inefficient processes previously used in tracking internal/external application access for staff ■Delivers timely notification and reminders to Security Administrators when access is to be revoked ■Provides easy access to: ✷ Any tracked resource to obtain a list of authorized users for that particular resource ✷ Each currently employed employee and any access that they have currently or held in the past ✷ Each terminated employee and any access that they have currently or held in the past ✷ All terminated employees who have any access that has not been disabled since their termination date ✷ A list of all resources and their assigned security administrators.

Technical Requirements… ■Stanislaus County Currently Utilizes: ✷ Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard SP2, SQL Server 2000 ✷ Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard SP2, Internet Information Services (IIS) ✷ SMTP (SIMPLE MAIL TRANSFER PROTOCOL) service enabled for notification delivery

Knowledge & Skill Requirements to Implement… ■Basic SQL Server database & administration skills ✷ Create SQL Server Login Account, Run.sql script file to set up all SQL database objects, edit existing stored procedures, assign permissions to objects ■Basic IIS Website Administration ✷ Create blank website, copy files to folders and set appropriate permissions ■Basic understanding of ASP processing & HTML ✷ Ability to edit existing code for customization

Knowledge & Skill Requirements to Expand Tracked Resources… ■Ability to follow written instruction ■Basic SQL Server database & administration skills ✷ Set permissions, create simple tables, relationships, stored procedures & SQL Jobs ■Basic IIS Website Administration ■Basic understanding of ASP processing & HTML ✷ Ability to edit and create by duplication and/or copy & paste ■Basic understanding of VBScript ✷ Ability to edit and create by duplication and/or copy & paste
