Silent Pirates Purpose Silent Pirates was founded to teach the basics of sign language and to raise awareness about the Deaf culture Silent Pirates aims to achieve these goals through club meetings, guest speakers, fundraising, volunteer activities, and silent socials

Quick FAQ Does it matter what my major is? No, we are open to all majors. I am a graduate student, may I still join? Yes, you may join. I am a beginner. May I still join? Yes, we are open to all levels of signing proficiency. I am not Deaf or hard-of-hearing. May I still join? Yes, we are open to any and all students regardless of race, age, gender, orientation, religion, grade, major, or physical ability. Are there Deaf of hard-of-hearing members in the club? Yes, the club was founded by two hard-of hearing students and we have several members who are either Deaf or hard-of- hearing.

Membership Requirements Attend at Least ½ of the Meetings Complete two volunteer hours a semester $20.00 Membership Due Per Semester – Due goes towards club t-shirts, guest speaker gifts, and club expenses Maintain 2.0 GPA
