Problem: How to drive more intensive resources to growth-stage manufacturers in San Francisco? San Francisco manufacturers are nimble product and service innovators, but many don’t have deep process/manufacturing expertise. Products often made through complex networked local supply chains of multiple companies vs. 100% in house Cultural issues: urban maker-manufacturers are diverse; Many do not see themselves as “traditional” manufacturers. Small urban manufacturers are not easy/economical to reach for a regional MEP.
