11 Indicators The equivalence point of an acid-base reaction is not necessarily near pH=7. Indicator end-point is ideally near the equivalence point.

12 Back titration If a reaction does not produce a sharp end, one can be manufactured by using a strong acid or base as needed. For a weak acid, react with a known, excess of strong base.
