A look into whether college student-athletes should be paid for their performances, considering the large amount of revenue they bring to their respective schools PAY FOR PLAY 1

5 REASONS TO PAY STUDENT-ATHLETES 1.Student-athletes are still expected to be upstanding in school, despite their overloaded extracurricular activities; on average, an in-season student-athlete works about 43 hours a week. 2.Most universities deem it acceptable for student-athletes to miss class for nationally- televised games; any other student would be dismissed from that course. 3.The NCAA is a monopoly and can afford to compensate their athletes. 4.It would make men’s college basketball and possibly other sports more competitive by enticing them to stay in college instead of going to the pros, and in turn, would create even more money. 5.It would allow less fortunate students to pay for necessities like food, clothing, and housing which a full-ride scholarship does not always cover.
