Egg Osmosis Experiment By: Kyanna Giles Room: 8-73
2
Purpose: To observe osmosis in a cell. 1) Place egg in vinegar, to remove the shell. 2) Measure weight of egg. 3) Measure size of egg.
3
Purpose: 4)Place one egg in water other egg in corn syrup. 5) After 24h weight and measure.
4
Hypothesis: Pictures Guess : Corn Syrup Egg Weigh: Less then the egg in water. Size: Smaller then the egg in water. Look: yellow. Weigh: Less then the egg in water. Size: Smaller then the egg in water. Look: yellow.
5
Hypothesis Pictures Guess: Water Egg Weigh: More then corn syrup egg. Size: Bigger then corn syrup egg. Look: White. Weigh: More then corn syrup egg. Size: Bigger then corn syrup egg. Look: White.
6
Materials : You will need Egg Beaker, Balance, String, Measuring tape Corn syrup, Water, Vinegar.

Observation:[chart] BeforeAfter Corn Syrup W 71.5 g S 16 cm W 50.6 g S 14.5 cm Water W 71.4 g S 16 cm W 87.5 g S 18.5 cm
8
Observation: [visual] Egg in corn syrup got deflated, smaller even lighter. Foam was at the top of the beaker. Egg in water got heavier. Bubbles was in the beaker.
9
Conclusion: Water Egg: Got larger. Water moved into the egg. Egg had lower concentration. Corn Syrup Egg : Got smaller. Water moved out of the egg. Egg had higher concentration.
10
Conclusion: Corn Syrup EggWater Egg Guesses were all right. CS egg weigh less then water egg. CS egg got smaller, high concentration. The CS egg turned yellow. Guesses were all right. Water egg weigh more then CS egg. Water egg got bigger, low concentration. The water egg turned white.
