1. Needs of workers in informal economy a) Trade union must include workers from informal sector and the labour law must cover the informal workers. b) The law is there but there is lack of enforcement. So, it need more in enforcing the law.

2. UNION INITIATIVES a) Trade union have informed the informal workers about labour law via website, pamphlets and media. (Vietnam) b) Similar to Vietnam but also counsel on workers right (Korea) c) 80 % of member comes from informal sector. (Vanuatu) d) Apart from information, TU also provide skills training and assistance (Indonesia)

3. STEPS TO BE TAKEN FOR WOMEN IN INFORMAL SECTOR a) Provide social security in the form of a ‘union run insurance scheme’. b) TU training must be specially formulated for women in informal sector. c) TU must advice women in the informal sector about how to obtain micro credit loans, how to write up projects paper, (entrepreneurship training)
