What Is It? Vicodin is a painkiller that contains acetominophen and hydrocodone and is used to relieve moderate to severe pain It is prescribed to patients for use of therapeutic treatments and is classified as a “Schedule III” in the United States Other names: Anexsia, Dolorex Forte, Hycet, Liquicet, Lorcet, Lortab, Maxidone, Norco, Polygesic, Stagesic, Vicodin, Xodol, Zamicet, Zydone

Effects of Vicodin Using Vicodin(or like medications) once will act on certain centers of the brain to give pain relief(an opiate drug).

Abuse of Vicodin Liver damage(or failure) Constipation Irregular heartbeat Nausea Dizziness Hallucinations Vision problems Constant Confusion Hives Skin rashes Swelling in face Hypertension Anxiety Slow heartbeat Drowsiness Vomiting

Athletes Using Vicodin Vicodin is a narcotic, and therefore anyone can become addicted. There are no ‘special symptoms’ for athletes, actors, or musicians. This drug causes clouded judgment, which can lead to fatality, but the symptoms will be the same for a football player as it will a ballerina.

Vicodin With Other Drugs Vicodin can be increased, decreased or altered if used with: Antidepressants MAO Inhibitor Donnatal, Congentin, Dramamine, Robinul, Cantil, Pamine, Transderm-Scop Bladder or Urinary medications Bronchodilator Irritable Bowel Medications

Texas Laws Texas follows the United States laws regarding prescription drugs: To qualify for treatment as a Schedule III medication in the United States, hydrocodone must be combined with a non-narcotic ingredient in a recognized therapeutic amount. per dosage unit (i.e. a solid, pill or capsule) which must have no more than 15 mg of hydrocodone in addition to the therapeutic amount of a non-narcotic ingredient
