What is Electricity? Electricity is a physical phenomenon associated with stationary or moving electrons and protons. Electric Forces are the forces caused by the build-up of electricity Electric Charges are positive or negative particles that exert an electric force

Static Electricity Static Electricity is the build-up of electric charge on an object. There are a variety of ways to “discharge” the electric charge. - walking across a rug on a dry day - touching something and feeling a shock

Static Electricity An Electric Discharge is the removal of an electric charge from an object. Large electric discharges occur during a thunderstorm. The flashes of lightning is the electric discharge.

Static Electricity Laws of Electric Charges: 1) Opposite charges attract each other. 2) Similar (Like) charges repel each other. 3) Charged objects attract neutral objects.
