Middle School Process By David Lesser
2
Step one : touring middle schools The first thing you do is tour middle schools to find out if you like it or not. This is Robert F. Wagner middle school. This is the front of the school.
3
Step two: application and test/interview After you are done touring schools you fill out your applications and you apply to the middle schools on your list. After your applications are sent in, schools send you in for tests and interviews to see how well you will fit in the school.

step three: waiting Finally after you finish your tests and interviews you just have to wait and wait until you get the letter. I waited four months until I got my middle school letter.

Step four: middle school letter Finally after four months your middle school letter has came! It was a long hard process but it all worked out in the end.

Do you have a brother or sister in 5 th grade? Are you in 5 th grade? I’m in 5 th grade and I just went through the middle school process. I think that siblings of 5 th graders should know the steps of the middle school process. I believe that kids in 2 nd, 3 rd and 4 th grade should know about the middle school process. 2 nd graders should know that there is a big project that happens throughout all 5 th grade. 3 rd and 4 th graders should have more specific and precise knowledge of the middle school process, by then the kids should start learning the steps and how much this counts for the rest of their school career. If kids know the process, by then they will be ready, and will know what to expect in the middle school process in 5 th grade. Also I believe that the middle school process for younger kids is important because they can help their siblings emotionally. For example my older sister, Emma, helped me feel good throughout the whole middle school process. She made sure that I wasn’t feeling down or feeling like I don’t belong. Younger and older siblings should recognize how tough this process is on the sibling, and they should try to “step into the 5 th grader’s own shoes” and see how tough it is to be a 5 th grader at this point in the year. Siblings should also recognize they are a big part in the middle school process by being supportive of their siblings and cheering them on to do their very best. All in all, young kids should know about this process to get ready for what to expect in 5 th grade in the middle school process and to help older siblings get through tough times. Older siblings should help support younger siblings and family friends get through this process. This what I think the roles of younger and older siblings should be in the middle school process.
