5. PSB In progress – On site preparations for the beam dump replacement project on schedule. New beam dump core delivered to CERN and is under preparation. Dismantlement of the BTM/BTY beam lines now complete. Final zone cleaning in preparation. EN-STI Successfully Injected foam to aid the cutting of the old beam pipe. Start of the beam dump removal procedure currently programmed Wednesday 07 th August. No general access to the PSB Machine during this period. – CV consolidation and maintenance of CV, kickers, Septa, vacuum beam instrumentation, Magnet and Beam stopper – AS45 lift replacement final commissioning 16 th Sept. Forecast – Replacement of all PSB ring 32A power sockets which are not protected by a differential – Integration testing of the new PPS (access) system Installation of the public address cables & infrastructure. – Replacement of the BI.SMH under preparation. SPS EL cabling works in progress – BA3 finished this week The preparation of LSS1 for the irradiated cable campaign is in progress: – 3 rd dump has been removed from LSS1+ and stored in ECX5 – Still on target to have the area clear for the beginning of September LSS1+ - 20% of orphan cables !! – (list from Wednesday in Indico – please check) Transformers – 4/8 in place in BA3 All other works progressing on schedule. 01/08/2013LSC - K. 13. General infrastructures The possibility of deploying Wi-Fi access points at each LHC pits (PAD – MAD on surface) is under study. A slight slowdown in the project of technical network renewal (due to vacation period) but still quite ahead of the schedule.
