Sweet Betsy from Pike In this song, the story of Betsy and Ike’s trip is told in six verses. Each verse is followed by a refrain. A verse is a section of a song where the melody stays the same when it repeats. The words, however, change. A refrain is a section of a song that is sung the same way every time it repeats. Sing ”Sweet Betsy from Pike” and find out what happened along the way.
