2 Current Status – On Schedule Project is in a preliminary design stage Component selection has begun (generator) Weekly group meetings discuss trade study and feasibility study ideas. Wind-Aid Show Stoppers: None at this time We are on schedule, per group and class project timetables

3 Last Week Action Items: Chose wind turbine type Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine Simplicity (Fewer parts for assembly) More available research and analysis Investigated electric generators Feasible generator- AMETEK 38 VDC motor Adequate power at low speeds – 300 rpm Wind-Aid

4 Last Week- Microsoft Excel calculations HAWT Wind-Aid VAWT Colored areas = Adequate power

5 Next Week Action Items: Finalize and assign five trade study ideas by Thursday 2/7/2008 Blade design Support structure Battery options Electronic capabilities Create detailed sketches of finalized group concept by Tuesday 2/12/2008 Wind-Aid
