2.  Colombia is Caribbean South America’s most populous country.  Most Colombians live in fertile valleys and basins among the mountain ranges because those areas are moderate in climate and good for farming.

3.  The population rate in Colombia is much higher than USA, however the life expectancy is much less than USA as well as the literacy rate.  Few people live in the tropical rain forest regions in the south.

4.  The main exports in Colombia are coffee, bananas corn, rice, sugarcane, and Cassava and cocaine.  Colombia cuts and exports flowers around the world more than any country but Netherlands.

5.  Now-a-days oil is another major export, as well iron, ore, gold, coal, tin and emeralds  Even though they have all these resources they still have very low incomes.  Urban Poverty and rapid population growth remains a challenge in Colombia.

6.  Colombians are known for the area they live in because the physical location is isolated and different from the nearby countries.  Africans traditions have influenced their songs and dances.

7.  Colombians enjoy playing soccer probably because the influence from Spain.  There have been many border conflicts with Venezuela which has forced farmers to leave their land, and the economy has been damaged as a result as well

The Spanish conquered the Chibcha and seized much of their treasure. Spaniard are the descendants set up large estates. Powerful Spanish landlords forced South American Indians and enslaved Africans to work the land.
