2  Sojourner’s brothers and sisters were sold except one prior to her birth In 1797.  Sojourner was a slave in the Civil War time period.

3  Sojourner sold her son in 1827, when he was five.  She did this in half of guilt.

4  Truth set foot as a preacher, speaking and singing to the audiences in New England, middle Atlantic states, and the mid-west in 1843.

5  1846, She began speaking against slavery on a tour in New England.
