3 ITS Meeting Sept 20073 The OECD/UNSD joint Trade System – to recap Common application was jointly developed for processing OECD and UNSD Trade data. OECD processes member country data UNSD processes data received from OECD Data is exchanged between the organisations to complete each organisations database content. The system represents a major investment from both IT and substance in last 5 years

4 ITS Meeting Sept 20074 The Common Processing Application (COPRA) Application software for managing all steps of International Commodity Statistics processing from Data Capture to Dissemination COPRA developments jointly by UNSD and OECD Common processing rules by OECD and UNSD permit fully harmonized data Resource savings in countries and in IO’s through joint venture

5 ITS Meeting Sept 20075 Automating Data Flows with SDMX SDMX used in transfer of data between OECD and UNSD OECD encourages member countries to provide data in SDMX format OECD provides a basic tool for generating SDMX via an Excel macro

6 The OECD.Stat Data Warehouse Access to all datasets using Theme, Search and Saved Queries Access to all metadata closely integrated with the data Bulk Extracts of data in CSV format Multi-Dataset queries to combine data from multiple views Trade Data available includes ITCS, Monthly Trade, Trade in Services, Trade Indicators, Balance of Payments Data can be extracted as SDMX

8 OECD.Stat Content 500+ datasets and views covering all subjects available within OECD Secretariat and to Member countries (via OLISNet) 250+ limited datasets and views (“core views”) covering most subjects available to general public via internet: http://stats.oecd.org/wbos/default.aspx http://stats.oecd.org/wbos/default.aspx

9 OECD.Stat SDMX outputs A Web Service is available to extract data in SDMX format via a query
