3 Hydrogen R&D System Specification Specification document: - Describes MICE hydrogen R&D system ( P&ID implements recommendations by HAZOP study) - Specifies hydrogen gas panel assembly - Specifies test cryostat assembly - Defines scope of supply: a manufacturer supplies gas panel assembly and test cryostat but not a hydride bed, cryocooler, control system and ventilation system - Defines acceptance criteria MICE Collaboration Meeting, RAL, 15 June 2007

10 Next steps Next 3 months:  Order hydrogen R&D system hardware  Prepare control system specification document and start making control system (with Daresbury group)  Prepare ventilation system specification document, get quotes, start building ventilation system (requires the mezzanine) Next 6 months:  Install hydrogen R&D system in the MICE Hall and commission it with He  Pass Operation Readiness Review  Start working with hydrogen (possible conflicts with other activities in the MICE Hall) -> requires careful planning MICE Collaboration Meeting, RAL, 15 June 2007
