Policies and Procedures Health Mr. LaDeur

Class room rules 4 There are 3 important rules for class: 4 1. Bring materials to class each day 4 2. Show respect to everyone in class (classmates, teachers, substitutes, guest speakers, etc.) 4 3. Follow directions the first time they’re given

Materials 4 A textbook will be provided for each student and you are responsible for the book you check out. 4 Everyone must bring materials (specifically for this class alone), which include paper, pencils or pens, and their student planner to class everyday. 4 You may keep your binder/notebooks on your periods shelf if you choose.

Tardies 4 You must physically be in the room and in your seat when the bell finishes ringing or you will be considered tardy. 4 If you are more than 10 minutes late without a written note from another teacher, you will be considered skipping and will be written up. 4 If you accumulate 3 unexcused tardies then you will be written up and serve an after school detention. Each additional 3 tardies will be written up as well.

Bell Ringers 4 When you come in the class, you will get into your assigned seats, turn in any homework from the night before, and get out paper and begin to work on your bell ringer for the day. 4 In order to get full credit for bell ringers you need to write out the bell ringer and your response to it.

Teacher’s Desk & Personal Belongings 4 You are not permitted to sit behind my desk, touch or look at my computer, or touch stuff on my desk unless otherwise told to do so. 4 If this becomes a problem you will stay after class and discuss it with me.

Going To The Restroom 4 Each student will be allowed to use the restroom 5 times during our 18 week course, so use your visits wisely. You may also only go one at a time. 4 No student will be allowed to use the restroom 10 min. after the bell rings or 10 min. before the bell is going to ring. 4 If you are or have been written up for smoking, you will lose all your bathroom privileges for the 18 weeks. I may also revoke your bathroom privileges if I know/think you’re a smoker/dipper. 4 If you are tardy to class you may not leave the room that day for any reason.

Late Work 4 Late work will result in a zero for the assignment. 4 The only exception to this rule is an absence from class. 4 This may sound harsh at first, buy you will find that you don’t have a lot of homework but rather class work that may need to be finished at home. You will have time in class to complete most assignments.

Absences 4 You are responsible for all class work and notes that were missed during your absence. You should find me when you return from an absence. 4 You will have the number of days missed to make-up an assignment. 4 You need to get missing bell ringers/exit slips from your partner or someone in class. Do not turn in bell ringers/exit slips at the end of the week with the word “absent” for that day, you will not receive credit.

Consequences 4 1st Offense-Student/Teacher Discussion/Warning 4 2nd Offense-After school detention with teacher and phone call home. 4 3rd Offense-Discipline referral; after school detention and parent phone call. 4 4th Offense-Meeting with parent and principal. 4 I reserve the right to skip consequences for major offences or repeat offenders. I also reserve the right to make the punishment fit the crime.

After School Detention 4 There are 3 different kinds of detention you can get at MCHS. 4 1 st -After school with teacher: A teacher assigns you to stay with them after school for approx. 30 min. 4 2 nd -After school Tuesday/Thursday for 1 hour 4 3 rd -After school Friday for 2 hours

What will get me an after school detention with Mr. LaDeur? 4 Ex. Swearing, name calling, insulting teacher or other student. Writing on desks (also will result in you losing your desk for 1 week). Constant sleeping in class (will also result in you losing your desk) Using cell phone/texting during class Repeated offences of not having class materials

Pet Peeves 4 There is NO sleeping in this class. You may not lay your head down, close your eyes, or cover your face during class. If this becomes a chronic problem, disciplinary actions will be taken. 4 I would prefer you not eat/drink in class. If you have a drink it MUST have a cap on it. No cans or fountain drink cups.

How/When can students contact me? 4 You should feel free to come and speak to me about anything that is bothering you.
