Who or What is the Spirit? The Holy Spirit is a PERSON Like the Father and Son are Individual PERSONS The Spirit is referred to as “HE”

The Spirit is a Person Because He Has the Characteristics of a Person….. He has the mind of a person Romans 8:27 A will – 1 Corinthians 12:11 Knowledge – 1 Corinthians 2:11

How Does the Spirit “Act”? The Spirit says/speaks, 1 Tim.4:1 He testifies/witnesses, John 15:26 He intercedes, Romans 8:26 He predicts, 1 Peter 1:11 He helps, Romans 8:26 He strengthens, Ephesians 3:16

How Does the Spirit “Act”? The Spirit reminds, John 14:26 He teaches, John 14:26 He hears, John 16:13 He transports, Acts 8:39 He forbids, Acts 16:6 He guides, John 16:12-13

How Can the Spirit be “Treated?” The Spirit can be… received, Acts 19:2 resisted, Acts 7:51 blasphemed, Matthew 12:31 lied to, Acts 5:3 grieved, Ephesians 4:30

No question about it…. The Holy Spirit is a Person …that speaks, …….and can be received, resisted, and grieved.

What is a ‘divine nature’? Acts 17:29 gives a clue… Being then the children of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and thought of man.

What is a ‘divine nature’? Acts 17:29 gives a clue… “Divine Nature” in the NASV is “Godhead” in the KJV “head/hood” was originally a distinct substantive, meaning ‘person, personality, sex, condition, quality, rank (Bradley, in A New English Dict. on a Historical Basis)
