GRADUATION CREDITS In order to graduate the state requires 4 credits in science. The curriculum includes the following science classes: 1) Physical Science (GA Milestone) 2) Biology ( GA Milestone) 3) Chemistry 4) Environmental Science 5) Human Anatomy and Physiology

What is it? The Georgia Milestones Assessment is a comprehensive summative exam given to students in grades 3 through high school in specified subject areas.

What’s it for? Ensure that students are learning Provide data to teachers, schools, and school districts Identify instructional needs and help plan how to meet those needs

Which science classes have a Milestone Exam ? Physical Science - 9th grade Biology - 10th grade

What will the Milestone Exam cover? The test will cover: Georgia Milestone Content Weights

How will this test impact my child’s grade? The Milestone Test will serve as the FINAL EXAM ! It will count as 20% of the student’s final grade for the course Classes without a Milestone will have SLO test. ie. Chemistry, A&P, Environmental Science and it will also count a percentage of their grade

How can my child prepare for the GA Milestones? Attend class regularly. Pay attention! Study the testing resources provided Give your best effort!
