Fun Facts Democritus was known as the “laughing philosoher” Democritus was considered by many people as “The Father of modern sciences” Aristotle was a student of the Plato Academy Aristotle believed that earth was the center of the universe

Scientific Facts Democritus theory on atoms suggested that the characteristics of an object were determined by the shape of the atom The atomic ideas of Democritus had no lasting effects on other Greek philosophers, including Aristotle Democritus hypothesis atoms couldn’t be destroyed, always moved around, and are invisible. He also believed the number of atoms were infinite Aristotle actually didn’t believe in the atomic theory, and when he was teaching other, he taught them otherwise Aristotle believed that everything was made of 4 elements: earth, fire, water, and air Aristotle views were proven wrong and are not used in modern day science.
