2 How were the barrier islands formed??
The islands were formed over thousands of years as more and more sediment was deposited by ocean waves, currents, and rivers into shallow areas off the coast.

3 Outer Coastal Plains Very flat land and has very low elevation

Elevations are slightly higher that the Outer Coastal Plains Inner Coastal Plains

5 Wetlands Lands that are at times covered with water. Examples are bogs, swamps, and marshes

7 Piedmont Soil of the Piedmont is rich soil and good farmland.
The soil is dark brown or reddish and feels like clay.
