2 Roller Coaster Model Build a working open track 2 loops roller coaster with a marble catch at the end . Before finalizing your design : Read the Roller Coaster Documents Measure the length of the track – pipe insulation you will be using in meters.

Measure the length of the track in meters Measure the height of the starting point in meters. Measure the heights of the loops in meters. Measure the time of the marble from start to finish using a stop watch for each roller coaster in seconds Calculate the speed of the marble using speed v=length of the track / time for each roller coaster in m/s Measure the mass of the marble in grams . Convert to kg . Calculate the Kinetic energy using KE=1/2mv2 in joules M- Mass of the marble in kg, v- velocity in m/s 8. Calculate the potential energy using U=PE=mgh in joules M- Mass of the marble in kg, g=9.8m/s2, h- height of the starting point in meters
