Organizational Changes Last fall, NOTAM Policy moved from Aeronautical Information Management – under Mission Support Services to Flight Services Program Operations – under System Operations Services. The US NOTAM system remains under AIM.

Policy Status - Highlights JO 7930.2N, Notices to Airmen, implementation date is delayed until October 1, 2013 All NOTAMs have an effective/expiration time – Estimated (EST), permanent (PERM) or auto-expire Field Condition (FICON) NOTAMs – Conditions Not Monitored – Observed At

TALPA History Take off and Landing Performance Assessment Overrun at KMDW – December 8, 2005 FAA formed Aviation Rulemaking Committee – Improve information exchange Recommendations Provided to FAA in 2009 – Require manufacturers to provide landing distance data for contaminated runway conditions – Require operators, before landing, to conduct a landing performance assessment for the actual landing conditions
