4. Motivation …what a character desires. Motivation often changes as a result of what happens in the story.

11. Foreshadowing …any hint or clue about something that will happen later in the story

13. Suspense …anytime the audience doesn’t know what’s going to happen next. Stories without suspense are predictable and usually boring.

15. Dramatic Irony …this form of suspense is when the AUDIENCE knows what’s coming but the CHARACTERS do not.
