15 Antonyms Antonyms are words that have opposite meanings. Use the context and what you already know to figure out if the words are antonyms. Use a dictionary or thesaurus to find some antonyms. A thesaurus is a book of synonyms, but antonyms may also be included at the end of some entries.

16 Example: I want to know an antonym for wet. I know that if something is NOT wet, it is dry. So dry must be an antonym for wet. I will look in a thesaurus to be sure. I know that words are arranged in ABC order in a thesaurus. I can look in the ‘w’ section to find wet.
