it created feelings of bitterness and betrayal among victors and the defeated

2. The Western powers signed separate peace treaties with Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire. These nations lost mass amounts of land which were turned into other countries and limited their power.

1. The U.S. rejected the Versailles Treaty mostly because of the League Nations. Americans wanted to stay out of European affairs and the League of Nations would force them to partake in their affairs.
