What is the Telehealth Core Initiative? Project through the Minority Health Disparities Initiative to develop capacity for a telehealth research core to provide access to rural minority populations The long-term vision is an integrated telehealth network crossing the state for use in research with minority populations and dissemination of UNL’s expertise into the state Goals: 1) Assemble a core research group, 2) Assess telehealth resources, opportunities, and needs, 3) Develop a model site for telehealth services

Timeline Phase 1: o Map the current telehealth system o Identify a rural/minority telehealth expert and scheduled a consultation visit Phase 2: Identify potential sites o Identify potential communities o Identify resources/partners Phase 3: Pilot a project at a specific site

Progress Since Last Meeting Technology o Nebraska Statewide Telehealth Network performs well but there is variation between sites while individual sites are static o Demand for flexibility both within and between research projects (e.g., partnership with Nebraska AIDS Project) o Looking more towards building networks of community resources linked through software that can be shifted across locations and systems (e.g., Vsee)
