Chiho Wang ATLAS TRT Duke University CERN, Feb. 2004 2 Fuse Box Status Producing for 36 modules of each type All machined parts in hand All spring contacts, capacitors, resistors (filter ckt) soldered. Fuse soldering in progress u Type 1: done. u Type 3: 10 done. u Just received (3 rd batch) 853 fuses – processing (4300 fuses + spare remaining) Subsequent processes: u Attach HV wiring & cables u Attach HV connector at end of cable u HV test u HV continuity check Limiting process: Fuse availability.

4
Chiho Wang ATLAS TRT Duke University CERN, Feb. 2004 4 Capacitors Status 17,000 capacitors w/ bent pins & sockets made u Enough for 37 module of each type + 10% spare Going through HV test u 2,000 per batch, on 2,750V for 10 days u ~0.2% failure rate, mostly occurred instantly or within hours. u 6 th batch being processed Hysol coating after HV test u 1 hour to coat. Cure overnight u 2 days cleaning & socket training (w/ 0.019” pin) u 5 batches coated u 3 batches cleaned and shipped to CERN Limiting process: HV test
