2. How will I be assessed? O Assessment is through a portfolio of coursework tasks. Some of these tasks will be written, others will be practical in nature. O There are no exams in this course. O You will be taught through a mix of practical and theoretical lessons.

O Areas covered in the qualifications include O Understanding Customer Service in the Retail Sector O Understanding the Retail Selling Process O Understanding how Individuals and Teams Contribute to the Effectiveness of a Retail Business O Understanding Visual Merchandising for Retail Business O Understanding Fashion Retail Personal Shopping and Styling O Principles of Providing Administrative Services O Principles of Managing Information and Producing Documents O Principles of Supporting Change in a Business Environment O Principles of Supporting Business Events O Principles of Maintaining Stationery Stock.

4. Is this course for me? O This is a Level 2 BTEC course, taught over one year which provides an ideal bridge to our Level 3 BTEC courses for those students who don’t yet meet the entry requirements of 5 x A*-C GCSE or equivalent. O The course comprises two Specialist BTEC qualifications: Level 2 Diploma in Retail Knowledge and Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Business Administration. O It may appeal to learners who are interested in a career in retail or business administration or who wish to pursue Level 3 BTEC courses but don’t yet quite meet the entry requirements. O This is a stand-alone course offering 15 hours of timetabled lessons per week plus the opportunity to take part in work experience placements.
