2.  Standardized Clinical Interview  This is a series of questions a psychiatrist will ask the patient  It is a subjective interview where the patient gives a portrayal of the problem  In addition to the interview there are other methods for diagnosis  We will look at these later in the library

3. Description of symptoms of a disorder  Affective symptoms: emotions  Behavioural symptoms: observable behaviours  Cognitive Symptoms: ways of thinking  Somatic symptoms: physical symptoms  Differs from B in that these are physical issues, not actions

4.  Validity: is there an accurate diagnosis  Easy with physiological aliments, not so with psychological  Mainly because different symptoms can be found in other disorders  Reliability: high when different psychologists concur on a diagnosis  Aka: inter-rater reliability Rosenhan (1973)
