Objective: You will analyze sculptures in order to define hybrid and brainstorm ideas for your sculpture. DRILL: GET AN IPAD and your sketchbook. 1.Title page: “Hybridia ” You will need 2 pages. 2.What is a hybrid? (iPad search) Find an example. 3.What is an example of a hybrid? What creatures are hybrids? 4.Go to Edmodo. Look at the artist’s websites. Pick 2 different pieces to post. Repost 2 hybrids. 5.Draw page layout from slide 4 on Power point.

What is a hybrid? A hybrid is… a thing made by combining two different elements; a mixture. “a fusion of 2 objects or creatures.” - Graham

The Story of Sedna A number of versions of the Sedna legend exist. In one legend Sedna is a giant, the daughter of the creator-god Anguta, with a great hunger that causes her to attack her parents. Criteria 1.Must have part(s) that are human. 2.Must have part(s) that are an animal. 3.(Must be a HYBRID of 2 or more things) 4.3 inches or larger. 5.Connect to a base or stand on its own. 6.Be creative with building, detail, and painting. Painted with tempera after it is fired. 7.Hollow out if too thick, so it doesn’t explode.
