Vortex Generator
2
An aerodynamic surface, consisting of a small vane that creates a vortex Maintain steady airflow over the control surfaces at the rear of the wing Usually fitted in a spanwise line approximately ten percent aft of the leading edge of the wing

Vortex Generator 1.Stick out of the stagnant air near the surface of the wing, and into the freely moving air outside the boundary layer 2.Mix the free stream with the stagnant air to get it moving again 3.Energizes the normally stagnant boundary layer of air on the wing's surface and delay separation and stall effects 4.Airflow "sticks" to the wing better, permitting flight at lower airspeeds with improved control authority 5.Alleviate potential shock-stall problems for swept-wing transonic designs
