What is PYP Exhibition? The Primary Years Programme (PYP) exhibition represents a significant event in the life of a PYP school and student, synthesizing the essential elements of the PYP and sharing them with the whole school community. As a culminating experience it is an opportunity for students to exhibit the attributes of International Baccalaureate (IB) learner profile that have been developing through out their engagement with the PYP.

Essential Features of the exhibition
Explore knowledge that is significant and relevant. Provide opportunities for students to engage in action. Demonstrate an ability to reflect on and apply their learning.

ROLES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY IN THE PYP- EXHIBITION

ROLE OF A STUDENT Participate in selecting a real life issue Deciding on central idea, lines of inquiry and student questions Demonstrate an understanding of the five elements of PYP Understand the purpose and requirement of the PYP Exhibition. Be academically honest when referring to their sources of information

Role of Teacher Initiate ,facilitate and guide the exhibition process
Ensure the participation of all students by considering their interests Role of Teacher Keep detailed record of the process Plan collaboratively and provide for student inquiries

ROLE OF PYP COORDINATOR AND PRINCIPAL
Celebrate with the students by attending the staging of the exhibition Allocate sufficient funding to provide appropriate resources Promote the exhibition in the school Provide opportunities for professional development and support Provide support for teachers and students

Help the students to set and meet their goals by asking questions.
ROLE OF MENTOR Meet with the students on a weekly basis or as needed and guide the students. To make anecdotal observations and give feedback to the students and teachers. Help the students to set and meet their goals by asking questions. To act as a guide resource person in the accomplishment of specific tasks. Monitor the progress of the students ,assisting them in setting new goals.

Enable world wide access to primary and secondary sources of data .
ROLE OF ICT Offer technical equipment, communication options such as wikis,blogs, s,websites Enable world wide access to primary and secondary sources of data . Provide an environment to record ,organize, analyze and reflect on their learning. Provide different opportunities for staging and presenting the exhibition

ROLE OF PARENT/GUARDIAN
Have an understanding of the purpose and requirements of the exhibition Support and encourage students and teachers throughout the process of inquiry Be informed by reading newsletters, attending meetings, checking school websites, talking with students Help students to access resources—people, places, media and information Provide expert subject knowledge where applicable act as mentors as required or appropriate Encourage independent inquiry and respect student ownership of the process Have an opportunity to reflect on and give feedback on the exhibition Celebrate with the students by attending the staging of the exhibition.
