Bullying is a very damaging and frightening experience for all.
4
What are we doing about it in Salford? National Anti Bullying week: 15-19 November. Pupil survey being run in all schools.
5
What will the pupil survey tell us? How much bullying there is. Where bullying takes place. How bullying is dealt with. When bullying takes place. Why bullying happens.
6
What is bullying? There are many types of bullying from teasing to threats and violence. Bullying falls into two categories: –Taunting, teasing, spreading hurtful things and leaving people out of groups. –Physical hurt such as kicking, hitting and pushing.
7
It is bullying if: it happens often, many times the bully knows that it hurts the bullying is carried out by one or more people the bully makes you feel weak and upset. How do I know if it’s bullying?
8
There are many types of bullying These include: being called names being left out by other children being punched or pushed nasty stories being told about me being asked to give up money or belongings being sent nasty text messages or emails being forced to do something I didn’t want to do getting teased about the way I look, my religion, race or colour being called gay (whether or not its true).
9
Why should I complete the survey? If we know about it we can help to stop it. We can help to prevent it from happening to others. We do not want to know your name, so no-one will know that you have answered the questions, or what answers you have given.
