7 National Honors Society(NHS)  Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25  Demonstrate good character/behavior skills  Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.15  Great addition to your resume’ and scholarship applications  Regardless of endorsement, a student must be a member of the National Honors Society in order to graduate with honors from JHS

12 Graduation Requirements(28 credits required) 4 Math1 PE, 0.5 Health 4 Science1 Career Preparedness 4 History(6.5) Elective credits 4 English3 CTE and/or Foreign Language and/or Arts Education Total of 80 community hours for advanced diploma (20 hrs/year recommended) 3 out of 4 honor classes in each core area --- required for advanced diploma

16 Get Involved! ! !!  Athletics  Arts: Band, Chorus  Service Organizations  Academic Organizations  Clubs  (Research shows that the more involved students are in school, the less likely their chances are of getting into trouble with the law and/or dropping out of school.  It takes more than good grades to be competitive for scholarships. Get involved in your school and community!

17 Making Dreams A Reality: One Student at a Time  Four years go fast !!!!  Upon graduation, we expect every student to have accomplished: –Social Skills Necessary for Adulthood –Job Readiness –College Entrance –Scholarship Eligibility  Realize it all starts DAY ONE at JHS! A right start makes a strong finish!
