Course Expectations What we will be covering: American Literature A look at the American wild vs American society and how different peoples have approached these two domains over the centuries Homework Expectations Can expect nightly homework based on the progress we make as a class All homework and classwork posted to my website (includes links to every PowerPoint, worksheet, and text) Students are permitted 3 extensions per semester via a homework pass, otherwise missing work is a zero

Grading Practices Live gradebook on Infinite Campus Each marking period=35% of final grade: –Formative (20%): in-class assignments, rough drafts, pop quizzes, homework –Summative (80%): projects, papers, tests/quizzes Each core=10% final grade –Genre Apprentice –Literary Analysis Final Exam =10% final grade
