Mary Quant in History 1966 - Quant received her OBE for her contribution to the fashion industry. Convinced everyone that fashion needed to be affordable and accessible to the young Began a fashion revolution her business included everything from carpet to swimsuits to toys changed the look of women worldwide "There was a time when clothes were a sure sign of a woman's social position and income group… Not now.”

Mary Quant: A Fashion Influence o was one of the first to tap into street fashion. o responsible for hot pants, the Lolita look, the slip dress, PVC raincoats, smoky eyes and sleek bob haircuts. o didn’t invent the mini-skirt but made it a worldwide sensation. o Many have said she was the inspiration for the swinging 60’s.
