The Boundary Characteristics Radiograph Density Pattern from Periapical Abscess, Periapical Cyst and Periapical Granuloma in Tooth Root from CBCT Fahmi Oscandar Dentomaxillofacial Radiology Departement, Faculty of Dentistry, Padjadjaran University, Bandung, West Java, Indonesia fahmi.oscandar@fkg.unpad.ac.id
2
Backround of Research To determine the condition of periapical abscess, periapical cyst and periapical granuloma in tooth root, we can see boundary from periapical pathologic lesion.
4
The boundary of periapical cyst has coherent and clear boundary, for the periapical abscess has boundary diffuse and for the periapical gralunoma has irresolute clear boundary.
5
Problem Research The interpretation was done usually by eyes of radiologist directly.
6
The aim of this research To describe boundary of periapical abscess, periapical cyst and periapical granuloma in tooth root by using profile pattern of density from CBCT
7
Methods The design of research was descriptive analysis. The samples were done 25 periapical cyst, 30 periapical abscess and 20 periapical granuloma from secondary data CBCT in Dentomaxillofacial Radiology Instalation, Dental Hospital Faculty of Dentistry, University of Padjadjaran Bandung, West Java, Indonesia.
8
Profile of density measured to be started from alveolar passing boundary of periapical lesion and up to middle shares of lesion.
9
Results and Discussion The result were showing profile of density periapical cyst that high density at alveolar bone followed by make-up of value of density higher level at boundary and continued with value of lower density at middle shares of lesion.
10
the periapical abscess showing high density at alveolar bone followed by degradation of value of density sloping considerably which started from boundary to middle shares of lesion.
11
periapical granuloma showing high density at alveolar bone followed by lower density value started from boundary to middle shares of lesion.
13
Conclusion The boundary of periapical abscess, periapical cyst and periapical granuloma in tooth root have characteristics radiograph density pattern from CBCT
