Vocabulary Latrine- a toilet or something used as a toilet, as a trench in the earth in a camp Esprit de corps- sense of unity and common interests and responsibilities, developed among a group of persons Gangrene- necrosis or death of soft tissue due to obstructed circulation Tommy- slang. Bread, especially brown bread, or rations, as formerly distributed to troops and workers

4. Vocabulary Munitions- materials used in war such as weapons and ammunition Aspirant- one who seeks or desires a career, advancement, status, ect. Lorry- a large motor truck Barrage- heavy barrier of artillery fire to protect one’s own advancing or retreating troops or to stop the advance of enemy troops

5. Vocabulary Battery- combination of two or more cells electrically connected to work together to produce electric energy Quartermaster- a military officer charged with providing clothes, fuel, and transportation Chlorine gas- a highly toxic gas to first be used in WWI
